The Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact was a turning point in history because it caused a lot of tension between many countries not just Germany and the Soviet Union, also the pact was the biggest event that lead to World War II. The pact allowed Germany to attack Poland (September 1, 1939) without worrying about the Soviet union interfering and causing a two- front war. But two days later after attacking Poland Britain and France declared war on Germany because they pledged to protect Poland five month earlier before the attack. Then on September 17, 1939 The Soviet Union enters Poland to proceed their "sphere of influence" which was in the secret protocol. This was the event that marked the beginning of World war II. During world war II Hitler would break the non-aggression pact with Stalin causing tension and them attacking one another. At first Hitler was taking over the Soviet Union with the help of his allies which were Finland, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, and Croatia. But in December 1941 the Soviets did a major counterattack on Germany and ending with Hitler committing suicide.
