THESIS: The Nazi Non-aggression pact was an agreement that was signed between Hitler and Stalin on August 23, 1939 before WW2 broke out. By signing this pact Germany and this Soviet Union agreed not to take military action against each other for the next ten years. Many were shocked that Stalin would agree to sign the pact because Hitler was known as someone that never keeps his promises. The major reason why Stalin signed the pact, was because he needed more time to advance his military so when Hitler would attack, Soviets would be prepared. Also the non aggression pact contained a private agreement, which was that the Soviet Union and Germany agreed to equally divide Eastern Europe. This agreement was a turning point in history because together they would invade Poland, which brought problems with Britain and France, which led to their involvement and the start of European War.
